Building a Zero Carbon Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester has a unique opportunity – to lead the way towards a sustainable zero-carbon future, in its buildings and built environment. The city-region is already on track for its 2020 target, but the harder steps are still to come. This calls for new models for design and construction, finance and business, science and technology, social innovation  and joined up governance. How to put them all together?

We will map out the key challenges and barriers for buildings and the built environment. Then we explore the opportunities and pathways – key messages for GMCA and the Mayor. This needs the expertise and experience of designers and consultants, developers and builders, researchers and innovators, managers and entrepreneurs in housing, property and infrastructure.

The University of Manchester is hosting this invited workshop, at

  • Thursday 1st March, 4-7pm
